Well the first month of my 29th year of running is in the books.....I knid of said late last year that I was going to "only" run in the range of 3,800 miles this year....but it appears I am having trouble wrapping my mind around coming back down to 10.0-10.5 miles a day again....hard to argue with not staying at 11 a day when I feel so good....we will see.....I doubt it is another 4,000 mile year....but I did not plan last year on being 4,100 plus miles....kind of happend....I would like to run a few more marathons this year...and that will mean some tapering.....but I am good and banking miles....I amjust not good at making a withdrawl.....may do some more mile repeats during the AM 8 tomorrow.

341.1 miles for the month………11.0 a day average @7:57 pace.

January in review:

Ran my 14th marathon and 13the BQ on January 6th……also my oldest sons 18th birthday.

Did the Marathon in 3:21:56 on a tough course…….feel like I am in 3:15 shape or better now.

Also put in a 100.8 mile week…..the same week I ran the marathon.

Had an influx of speed about 14 days after the marathon……since then have run 9 sub6 miles and 33 sub7 miles…….with 4 sub20 5Ks done in training………19:18…….19:34……19:44……19:58…..in addition to a 20:01 and a 20:04.

All and all….not a bad month.
11 of the last 13 months……I have not averaged under 11 miles a day.

41st consecutive month to not average under 10 miles a day.
50th consecutive month to not average under 9 miles a day.
61st consecutive month to not average under 8 miles a day.

2,098th consecutive days run.

YTD= 341.1
LTD=68,681.7

Hey TWW,

In response to your last post about posting more than miles and you ask but why? here is my answer:

I think part of starting a blog is not not only talking about running (which I know is the big part), but it's also nice to see the person behind those miles too. :)

There are certainly enough readings about running but when you give a little about yourself too, it helps to see who that person is...... I'm not saying we want to know all your details about you, but it's nice to some background of that person and where they are coming from..

Okay in regards to your baseball, the Dodgers, Steve Finley is my man! (is he still there?) he has moved around such much I can't keep track. But I loved him when he was with the D'backs...
